You Don't Have to Know How to Pose

I photograph entrepreneurs, executives, consultants, physicians, attorneys, and actors at my Chicago studio.

Every session is fully directed. I tell you what to do with your chin, your shoulders, your hands, and your eyes from the first frame to the last, so you never have to know how to pose. You'll see the images on screen as we shoot, and you'll choose your favorites before you leave.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Your Headshot Is Working When You Aren't

A recruiter opens your LinkedIn profile. A prospective client lands on your website and scrolls down to see who they'd be working with. A casting director moves through a submission list two hundred people long. A colleague types your name into Google the night before a meeting.

None of them have met you. The photograph does the introducing.

The fix is a small one. Keep the picture current, and make sure it looks like you on a good day.

THE QUIET COST

Nobody Tells You They Skipped Your Profile

Opportunities rarely disappear with a rejection attached. The recruiter who moves on, the referral that never gets made, the client who keeps scrolling past you toward someone else: none of it shows up anywhere you can measure.

Photographs age faster than we notice them aging. Plan on updating every two to three years, or sooner if your role changes or the picture starts to feel like someone you used to be.

WHAT PEOPLE NOTICE

What a Strong Headshot Actually Communicates

Confidence

The relaxed kind, not the chin-up, arms-crossed kind. It lives in the shoulders and the eyes, and it's something I direct for rather than something you have to walk in already having.

Credibility

People register the gap between a polished website and a dated photo even when they can't articulate what's bothering them. Closing that gap removes a question mark before anyone thinks to ask it.

Approachability

Most work comes from someone deciding they'd enjoy a conversation with you. Warmth in a photograph is a technical thing as much as an emotional one, and most of it happens around the eyes.

Recognition

Your headshot is what makes someone walk up to you at a conference or remember your name when a referral comes up. That only works when the picture looks like you now.

THE WORK

Headshots Built for How People Actually Find You

Whether the image is going on LinkedIn, a firm bio, a speaker page, a hospital directory, or a casting submission, it has a job to do. I'll ask about that job before we start, and I shoot with the answer in mind.

Every image is retouched by me. Skin still looks like skin. Nothing gets smoothed into a stranger.

SESSIONS

Not Sure Which Session You Need?

LinkedIn Headshots

Current, clean, and cropped correctly for the platform. This is the image most people see first, and it's the one working hardest for you.

Executive Portraits

For founders, partners, and leadership teams who need something with more weight to it than a profile picture. Works for press, board pages, annual reports, and speaking bios.

Personal Branding

A set of images rather than a single frame, for websites, media kits, course pages, and social content. We build variety through wardrobe changes, framing, and background.

Actor Headshots

Commercial and theatrical looks that read at thumbnail size, cropped to industry standard and sized for agency and casting submissions.

WHO I PHOTOGRAPH

Photography for Every Stage of a Career

Entrepreneurs

You are the brand until the company is large enough to have one of its own. The photograph builds trust before the first call happens.

Consultants

Expertise is invisible on a webpage. Your photograph is what carries it until someone reads far enough to find the proof.

Physicians and Therapists

Patients pick providers out of a directory grid, often in under a minute. A warm, current portrait matters more in healthcare than almost anywhere else.

Attorneys

Bio pages get read closely by people about to make an expensive decision. Your photo should hold up next to the credentials printed beside it.

Actors

Casting sees your headshot at the size of a postage stamp. It has to communicate type and personality before anyone clicks.

Executives and Teams

For offices that need everyone photographed on the same background with the same lighting, so the leadership page looks like it belongs to one company.

THE EXPERIENCE

Most People Tell Me They're Not Photogenic

They usually say it in the first two minutes, before we've taken a single frame.

I came to photography at 54 and I've been photographing clients since 2016. I don't especially enjoy being photographed myself, which is probably why I run sessions the way I do. You won't be left standing on a mark wondering what to do with your hands. I'm giving direction continuously, showing you images on the screen as we go, and adjusting based on what we're both seeing.

Most people stop noticing the camera somewhere in the first fifteen minutes.

THE PROCESS

What Working Together Looks Like

01

Planning

Before your session we go over what the images are for, who's going to be looking at them, and what to bring. You'll get wardrobe guidance in writing so you're not standing in front of your closet at eleven the night before.

02

Your Session

Fully directed from the first frame to the last, in studio. It plays more like a conversation than a shoot. The adjustments are small and constant, and they're what turns a stiff picture into one that looks like you.

03

Same-Day Selection

We review the images together at the end of your session and you choose your favorites right there. Nothing gets emailed to you a week later to sort through alone.

04

Retouching & Delivery

Your selected images come back retouched in three to five business days as digital files in multiple crops, sized for LinkedIn, your website, and your business card. Prints, canvas, and other products are ordered separately through your online gallery.

THE GUARANTEE

You'll Love Your Images

I guarantee you'll love your images. If you don't, we keep shooting until you do.

What Clients Are Saying

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do sessions take place?

At my Chicago studio, with everything you need on site. Parking and arrival details come with your booking confirmation.

I'm terrible in front of a camera. Is that a problem?

No, and it's the single most common thing people tell me before we start. Every session is fully directed, so you don't need to know how to pose or what to do with your face. That part is my job.

Do you help with what to wear?

Yes. You'll get wardrobe guidance before your session, and you're welcome to bring several options so we can build different looks. Bring more than you think you need.

When do I see my photos?

At the end of your session. We go through everything together and you choose your favorites before you leave. Retouched files arrive in three to five business days.

Do you photograph actors?

Yes. Commercial and theatrical looks, cropped and sized for agency and casting submissions.

How often should I update my headshot?

Every two to three years is a reasonable rhythm, or sooner if your role or your appearance has changed.

Do you photograph teams and offices?

Yes, on a consistent setup so everyone on the leadership page matches.

Ready for a Photograph That Looks Like You?

Whether you're updating LinkedIn after a promotion, launching a practice, refreshing your acting materials, or finally replacing a picture that's five years old, the session runs the same way. You'll be directed the whole time, you'll see the images before you leave, you'll pick them yourself, and what you take home is something you're comfortable putting your name on.
